On October 30, 2025, a commemorative 100-somoni banknote was introduced into circulation in Tajikistan, marking the 25th anniversary of the national currency, the somoni, the press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan reported .
According to the agency, the commemorative banknote was issued by decision of the Board of the National Bank, based on the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the National Bank of Tajikistan," with the aim of providing the economy with banknotes and marking a significant date in the history of the national currency.
The celebratory banknote reflects the country's historical heritage and demonstrates the sustainable development of Tajikistan's monetary system and national economy. Its design incorporates cultural, historical, and architectural motifs symbolizing the country's rich past, ancient civilization, and the creative talent of the Tajik people.
The new commemorative banknote will be in circulation alongside other 100-somoni banknotes of the National Bank of Tajikistan and will have equal status when used in monetary circulation.
