The volume of loans issued in Tajikistan in the first half of 2025 amounted to 13.7 billion somoni. This was reported by the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As specified by the regulator’s press service, the indicator increased by 3.1 billion somoni, or 28.9% compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the National Bank, the bulk of issued loans went to the consumer sector – 49.8%. 15.1% of the total volume of loans was directed to foreign trade, 12.6% to agriculture, 9.3% to industry, 6.4% to the service sector, and 3.6% to construction. Another 3.2% was distributed among other areas of the economy.
In addition, the volume of microloans issued during the reporting period amounted to 10.2 billion somoni.
The average weighted interest rate on loans in national currency in January-June 2025 was 22.4%, and in foreign currency – 11.8%.
The National Bank emphasized that the growth in lending volumes indicates a gradual recovery in business activity and an increase in demand for financial resources from both individuals and legal entities.
