At a press conference in Dushanbe, the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan announced the results of its activities for the first six months of 2025. Particular attention is paid to social prevention, support for women, family protection and women's entrepreneurship.
As part of the state strategy, more than 206 thousand events were held in the country, including: 430 thousand targeted conversations with families, 3847 events in mahallas and villages, 975 school events.
The report highlights an increase in domestic violence complaints, from 1,844 in 2024 to 2,121 in 2025. Of these, 1,763 were against men and 251 against women.
At the same time, a decrease in divorces was recorded – from 4408 to 4117 cases, and the number of children affected by divorces decreased by 402. The suicide rate among women decreased (from 110 to 102), but among underage girls there was an increase (from 24 to 30).
With the support of the President of Tajikistan, 120 projects worth 5 million somoni were implemented in 2024 as part of supporting women's businesses, and 200 projects worth 15 million somoni were implemented in 2025.
Also held: 843 raids to combat superstitions, divorces, extremism, 1345 training seminars, 114 festivals, 1195 competitions and events, 263 round tables. From March to May, cultural campaigns were held in Dushanbe: "Dress in Tajik" and "Woman – a symbol of purity".
According to the Employment Agency, 29,767 women are registered as unemployed, 2,222 are employed under quotas, and 7,537 have completed training (9,357 in 2024).
The Committee stressed that it would continue to work actively to address remaining issues and expand the coverage of programmes.
