A gala reception was held in the capital of Tajikistan, organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to the Republic of Tajikistan Guo Zhijun, as well as in honor of the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA).
The event was attended by representatives of government bodies of Tajikistan, the diplomatic corps, business circles, scientific and cultural communities, as well as journalists.
In his opening speech, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Guo Zhijun expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Tajikistan for the trust and warm welcome. He emphasized that he considers his main task to be the further deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
"China and Tajikistan are bound by strong ties of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual support. We are ready to continue deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, economics, security, culture and education, as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest," the diplomat noted.
According to the ambassador, in recent years, bilateral relations between our countries have reached a historically high level. Within the framework of the One Belt – One Road initiative, large-scale projects in the fields of infrastructure, energy, transport and logistics are being implemented. Guo Zhijun expressed confidence that these projects will contribute to the sustainable development of Tajikistan and all of Central Asia.
The event also marked the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China, one of the key pillars of China's national security. The ambassador emphasized the peaceful nature of China's foreign policy, its commitment to the principles of international law, and its readiness to jointly protect regional stability.
The gala reception was accompanied by a concert program, including performances by Chinese and Tajik artists, reflecting the cultural diversity and mutual respect between the peoples of the two countries. Guests were also offered Chinese cuisine and traditional souvenirs.
Relations between China and Tajikistan are actively developing in the political, economic, humanitarian and defense spheres. The countries closely interact within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the UN and other international structures, contributing to strengthening security and sustainable development in the region.
