The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the talks, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in the political, economic, trade and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of activating economic ties and expanding trade and investment cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy. The parties also expressed interest in closer cooperation in the energy, transport and industrial sectors.
In addition, during the conversation, an exchange of views took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda. The ministers emphasized the importance of coordinating actions within international and regional organizations, including the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening bilateral relations and strengthening the traditionally friendly ties between Tajikistan and Iran based on good neighborliness, mutual respect and trust.
