Over the next three years, Tajikistan plans to cover up to 80% of the population with Internet services and gradually transfer mobile communications to 4G and 5G technologies. This was announced by the Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Isfandiyor Sadullo at a press conference in Dushanbe.
"Currently, there are 20 fifth-generation base stations operating in Dushanbe, and another 2 in the city of Khujand. By the end of 2025, it is planned to increase the total number of 5G stations to 55," he noted.
Sadullo emphasized that one of the priority areas of the department's work remains the digitalization of regions and improving the quality of communications in remote areas of the republic.
According to him, the total income of the telecommunications sector for the first half of 2025 amounted to 2.4 billion somoni, which is 14.2% more than the same period last year.
The development of telecommunications infrastructure is seen as a key factor in the country's socio-economic growth.
