On July 16, 2025, a virtual meeting of representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Tajikistan-United States Trade Council was held, dedicated to issues of digital technologies and information and communication technologies (ICT), the press service of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan reported.
The purpose of the event is to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of digitalization of the economy, exchange of experience in e-government, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the introduction of modern technologies in key sectors of the economy.
The following took part and spoke from the Tajik side: Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management Sulton Rahimzoda, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies Hakim Ismoilzoda, and Executive Director of the Tajikistan-US Trade Council Elena V. Son-LaRocco.
The discussion covered priorities of state policy in the field of digitalization, opportunities for cooperation with foreign investors in ICT, creation of technology clusters, development of human capital, ensuring cybersecurity and protection of digital data. Particular attention was paid to creating favorable conditions for the introduction of innovative technologies and training of highly qualified specialists.
The meeting was attended by leading American companies and organizations, including SpaceX, Nasdaq, Broad Street Capital Group, Harvard University, Medtronic and others. Representatives of these institutions expressed their willingness to discuss joint projects, pilot initiatives and support for innovative programs in Tajikistan.
The parties agreed to further develop cooperation, including through the organization of joint working groups and regular meetings between relevant structures of Tajikistan and American technology and investment companies.
