Syria and Israel have agreed to a truce. This was announced on Saturday night by US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, who took part in the conflict settlement, the Interfax agency reports.
"The Israeli Prime Minister and the Syrian President have agreed to a ceasefire," the diplomat wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to him, the agreement was supported by Türkiye and Jordan.
"We call on the Druze, Bedouins and Sunnis to lay down their arms and build a new, united Syria," Barrak added.
Recall that in recent days Israel has carried out a series of airstrikes on Syrian territory. The official goal of the operations was said to be support for Druze formations friendly to Israel, which were repelling attacks by Syrian government forces and their allies.
