In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, large-scale sanitary and disinfection measures are being carried out in Dushanbe. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Deratization work is carried out by the State Republican Disinfection Center together with the State City Disinfection Station of Dushanbe. Disinfection covered Kahorov Street in the Firdavsi district and Pervomayskaya Street in the Shokhmansur district. Residential buildings, enterprises and institutions, public catering facilities, retail outlets, markets, public transport facilities, private companies, bus stops and pedestrian areas were subject to sanitization.
According to the sanitary service, specialists conducted monitoring at 114 sites to identify rodents and other factors that contribute to the spread of infections. Of these, 23 were residential buildings, 35 were catering establishments, 14 were industrial and labor facilities, and 42 were municipal institutions. Based on the inspection results, sanitary orders were issued requiring timely deratization measures.
In parallel with the disinfection work, employees of the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the city of Dushanbe and its district departments conducted explanatory work with residents of the specified areas. The population was reminded of the rules of sanitary culture, measures to prevent infectious diseases and responsible behavior in public places.
As the ministry emphasized, disinfection, deratization and disinsection in all districts of the capital will continue as planned. The city authorities call on citizens to comply with sanitary standards and cooperate with the relevant structures to strengthen epidemiological safety.
