Two pedestrians were killed in two road accidents in the Sughd and Khatlon regions of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
According to the department, on July 15 at about 10:00 p.m. on the Penjikent-Ayni highway, on the section passing through the rural jamoat of Sarazm, the driver of a BMW, 29-year-old Penjikent resident Zikrullo Sattorov, lost control and hit 91-year-old local resident Ravshan Rakhimov. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The second incident occurred on July 16 at 03:40 on the Dushanbe-Nizhniy Pyandzh highway in the area of the rural jamoat of Halevard. The driver of the Opel Astra, 54-year-old resident of the Jaloliddin Balkhi district Alimardon Shodiev, ran over 59-year-old resident of the city of Levakand Ismoil Idiev. The victim died on the way to the hospital.
An investigation is underway into both incidents.
