The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and LMW Global FZE, one of the world leaders in the production of textile spinning equipment, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop cooperation in the light industry. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The official signing ceremony took place on July 8, 2025, within the framework of the first International Textile Forum held in Dushanbe. The document was signed by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir and the Director of LMW Global FZE Mr. Jaidev Jayavartanavelu.
According to the signed agreement, the parties agreed to create favorable conditions for industrial cooperation, exchange of experience, localization of modern technologies and advanced training of personnel in the field of spinning production. The memorandum also provides for measures for the technological modernization of enterprises, promoting sustainable development of the industry and attracting foreign direct investment in the textile sector of Tajikistan.
As noted in the statement by the Ministry of Industry, “this agreement will open new horizons for the development of the country's spinning industry, promote the introduction of advanced solutions in the sector and strengthen the export potential of Tajik textile products.”
LMW (Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd.), founded in 1962, has over 60 years of experience in the production of energy-efficient equipment and is considered one of the flagships in the development of high-tech solutions for the spinning industry. Cooperation with Tajikistan will be carried out through the representative office LMW Global FZE, registered in the United Arab Emirates.
The International Textile Forum, within the framework of which the memorandum was signed, brought together representatives of more than 20 countries, including manufacturers, investors, experts and representatives of relevant ministries. The forum became a platform for discussing the prospects for industrialization, technological renewal, as well as measures to support the export of textile products of Tajikistan.
