In the first six months of this year, coastal protection works were carried out at a distance of 665 meters in the Sughd region, 20,465 meters of mudflows and 50.3 kilometers of irrigation canals were cleared of debris. This was reported by the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the Committee, 321 emergency situations of various natures were registered in the Sughd region in the first six months of 2025, which is 52 cases more than in the same period last year.
In the first half of 2025, 16 cases of drowning were recorded, which is 8 cases more than in the same period in 2024. During this period, 10 people were saved, which is 7 people more than in 2024.
