A group of archaeologists from the National Museum of Tajikistan began archaeological and anthropological research in the Sari-Main area of the Iskodar village of the Ayni district, NIAT Khovar reports with reference to the National Museum of Tajikistan.
Scientists and anthropologists from Russia and Uzbekistan joined the expedition to accurately study and identify the ancient remains found at the site, analyze the bones, lifestyle, customs and other features of the people of this period. The mummified remains will then be transferred to the National Museum for permanent display.
It should be noted that archaeological research is carried out on the basis of a license from the authorized state body – the Agency for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
