On July 8, 2025, the next round of inter-MFA political consultations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan took place in Tokyo. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sharifzoda Farrukh, the Japanese side was headed by Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia Masaki Ishikawa, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reports.
During the consultations, the parties discussed in detail the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in such areas as politics, trade, economic and investment ties, as well as cultural and humanitarian interaction. Particular attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan".
An exchange of views also took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda, including the situation in the region, ensuring stability and sustainable development.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and continuing constructive dialogue at all levels.
