Uzbekistan's Centrum Air airline is opening direct flights on the Tashkent-Dushanbe-Tashkent and Samarkand-Dushanbe-Samarkand routes. This was reported by NIAT Khovar with reference to the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Direct flights on the route Tashkent – Dushanbe – Tashkent will begin on July 19, and on the route Samarkand – Dushanbe – Samarkand – on July 20, with two flights per week on each route.
Flights on the routes "Tashkent – Dushanbe – Tashkent" and "Samarkand – Dushanbe – Samarkand" will be carried out by the Uzbek airline "Centrum Air" on the basis of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on air traffic, signed on March 9, 2018.
The launch of direct flights on the Tashkent-Dushanbe-Tashkent and Samarkand-Dushanbe-Samarkand routes is carried out by the Uzbekistan airline Centrum Air, while since June 16, 2025, China Southern Airlines has been operating direct flights between the cities of Dushanbe and Beijing.
This route was opened on the initiative of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the implementation of the instructions and orders of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with the aim of expanding cooperation with the People's Republic of China in the field of civil aviation.
Also, within the framework of aviation cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China, from July 1, 2025, the airline of the People's Republic of China "Chengdu Airlines" began direct passenger flights in the direction of "Kashgar – Khujand – Kashgar", which are carried out once a week. This decision was made in order to expand the geography of flights, develop the civil aviation industry and turn Tajikistan into a transit country.
It should be noted that the expansion of flights between Tajikistan and China is one of the important areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation and was discussed during the state visit of the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to Tajikistan in July 2024. In this regard, the country's President Emomali Rahmon gave the civil aviation agency specific instructions to increase the number of flights and open new routes between the cities of Tajikistan and China.
In order to implement these instructions and orders, a delegation of the Civil Aviation Administration of China visited Tajikistan in March 2025. During the visit, a fruitful meeting was held between the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khabibullo Nazarzoda, and the First Deputy Director General of the Civil Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China, Ma Bing, as well as with the management of China Southern Airlines.
It should be noted that in recent years, in light of the “open door” policy and the constant support of the country’s top leadership, the number of international routes from Tajikistan to foreign countries has been steadily increasing. In this context, new routes have been activated between Dushanbe and the cities of Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow, Almaty, Tashkent, Delhi and Tehran, which play an important role in presenting the country’s transit potential and strengthening economic and cultural ties.
The Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasizes that in the future, in order to increase the competitiveness of the industry and create favorable conditions for passengers, cooperation with leading global airlines will continue, and the number of international flights will constantly increase.
