A delegation of schoolchildren from Tajikistan will take part in the X International Cultural and Educational Forum "Children of the Commonwealth", which will be held from July 7 to 16, 2025, in the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by the organizing committee of the forum.
The forum is being held in Belarus for the first time and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War under the motto "Memory and Unity of Generations". It is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
Schoolchildren from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will take part in the forum.
The grand opening of the forum will take place on July 8 in Minsk at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony will be attended by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova and the Secretary General of the Council of the IPA CIS Dmitry Kobitsky.
The day before, on July 7, at the National Children's Technopark (Minsk), forum participants will be presented with scientific and educational programs and will be given thematic master classes.
The main part of the forum events will take place at the Zubrenok children's center, located on the territory of the Narochansky National Park. Schoolchildren will get acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of the Commonwealth countries, take part in dialogue platforms, sports competitions, master classes and trainings.
The forum program also includes: a meeting with representatives of the state authorities of the Republic of Belarus in an informal setting (“a meeting without ties”), an excursion to the National Library of Belarus, a visit to the Khatyn memorial complex – one of the key monuments to the victims of fascism, creative and educational events with the participation of famous artists, writers, actors and journalists.
A special event will be a meeting of the forum participants with cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya, as well as a visit to the Council of the Republic, where the children will be told about the work of the Belarusian parliament.
The Children of the Commonwealth forum is held annually and is aimed at developing intercultural dialogue, strengthening friendship between young citizens of the CIS countries and preserving common historical memory.
