In Tajikistan, the development of the project "Access to Markets and Adaptation for Livestock", initiated by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), is being completed. This became known on June 30 following a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kurbon Hakimzoda, and the Vice-President of IFAD, Gerardine Mukeshimana, within the framework of the 44th conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, NIAT "Khovar" reports.
As the Ministry of Agriculture reported to the agency, during the negotiations the parties discussed the implementation of the fund’s completed projects in the republic, their sustainability, as well as the impact on the well-being of residents of the pilot districts.
The draft “Country Strategic Program of the International Fund for Agricultural Development for the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2026-2030” and the project “Access to Markets and Adaptation for Livestock” on the development of a new project of the International Fund for Agricultural Development were also considered.
The issues of fish farming in Tajikistan, increasing the physiological supply of fish meat to the population, as well as the development of the export potential of the industry and financing of a new project in the field of fish farming were also raised.
