Large-scale repair work has begun in Gissar on a section of the road about 50 kilometers long, leading from the border of the rural jamoat of Gissar to the rural jamoat of Oriyon and the border checkpoint "Guliston", connecting Tajikistan with the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Executive Authority of the city of Gissar.
The works are being implemented within the framework of the plan of events dedicated to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. The project was initiated by the administration of the city of Gissar.
As reported by the mayor's office, on the morning of July 2, under the leadership of the head of the mayor's office, as well as the head of the working subgroup for preparation for the anniversary of Independence in the rural jamoat of Oriyon Izatullo Boboev, road construction equipment was sent to the specified area. Employees of the city institution for the maintenance of highways have already begun restoration work.
The goal of the project is to improve transport accessibility of remote settlements, improve the quality of road infrastructure and strengthen cross-border communications with neighboring Uzbekistan.
According to city authorities, repair work is planned to be completed in the coming months on the entire section, including the section of the road leading to the Guliston border checkpoint.
