The meeting of the expert group for the revision and approval of the draft Main events for cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of culture for 2026–2028 was held on June 30 in Minsk, the press service of the Organization’s Executive Committee reports.
The document was prepared on the instructions of the Council for Cultural Cooperation for the purpose of practical implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture of May 15, 1992 and the Concept of Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Sphere of Culture of May 19, 2011.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.
The experts finalized and agreed on the draft Main Events, as well as drafts of relevant decisions of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS on this issue.
It should be noted that the Main Cultural Cooperation Activities for 2021–2025 are currently being implemented in the CIS.
The draft of the new document consists of ten sections and includes 130 international and national events in various areas in the sphere of cultural cooperation: in the field of preservation and use of historical and cultural heritage monuments, in the protection of intangible historical and cultural heritage and folk art, in museum affairs, in the library, theater, music spheres, in the field of fine arts, in the field of cinematography, as well as interaction in the field of science, education and training of personnel.
