On June 26, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, opened the Sebzor hydroelectric power station in the Roshtkala region, the press service of the head of state reported.
The main structure of the energy industry consists of 3 units, the production capacity of which is 11 megawatts.
The Sebzor hydroelectric power station was built as part of the country's government support for the activities of private sector representatives with the attraction of foreign investment, and the installed technology allows for the production of more than 77.6 million kWh of environmentally friendly electricity per year.
The Sebzor hydroelectric power station will allow 220 thousand residents to gain access to electricity, which will contribute to the development of socio-economic spheres. An additional opportunity to export electricity to other countries has also appeared.
Let us recall that the foundation stone for the construction of the Sebzor Hydroelectric Power Station was laid by the head of state Emomali Rahmon on July 29, 2015.
The dam is 65 meters long and 8.5 meters high. Commissioning of the Sebzor hydroelectric power station will increase electricity production in Badakhshan by 25 percent, and improve the reliability and level of electricity supply.
Emomali Rahmon called the construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power station important for improving electricity supply and doubling the development of socio-economic spheres.
At the time of construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power station, up to 600 people were employed, and the use of modern technology made it possible to complete construction in accordance with design requirements.
In recent years, the construction and modernization of hydroelectric power plants in the Republic of Tajikistan, along with the increase in production capacity, have contributed to the improvement of professional skills and the contribution of Tajik specialists to the construction of hydroelectric facilities.
After commissioning at the Sebzor hydroelectric power station, 20 local specialists were employed on a permanent basis.
The generated electricity is regulated at the 110-kilovolt Sebzor substation and connected to the general power grid of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region via the 110-kilovolt Sebzor-Khorog power transmission line, 18 kilometers long.
The implementation of the “Green Economy Development Strategy” for 2023-2037 is ensured by ensuring the efficient use of natural resources, attracting investment, introducing modern and innovative technologies and, on this basis, constructing hydroelectric power plants.
The construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power station within the framework of the implementation of the Green Economy program by the Government of the country is regarded as evidence of growing success in attracting foreign investment, the use of modern technologies, contribution to the prevention of climate change and the growth of achievements in the field of green energy production.
