Representatives from more than 50 countries have been invited to the first International Textile Forum and Exhibition of Textile Equipment, NIAT Khovar reported, citing the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
This large-scale event, organized by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan with the support of the Government of the country, will be held from July 8 to 10, 2025 in Dushanbe.
“The event will become an important international platform for discussing the prospects of the textile industry, attracting investment, implementing innovative solutions, expanding international partnerships and strengthening cooperation ties between the government, business and the scientific community.
The forum is timed to coincide with the implementation of the Government’s priority strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing the textile and clothing industry of Tajikistan, integrating it into global production chains and developing it based on sustainability principles,” the ministry reported.
According to the source, today there are over 500 textile enterprises operating in Tajikistan, employing over 18,000 people. The leading direction in the development of the industry is the creation of full-cycle clusters – from cotton cultivation to the production of finished products. Sericulture, which is also focused on the cluster approach, is also actively developing.
"The development of the textile industry is not only of domestic importance, but also opens up broad opportunities for exporting products to international markets, where demand for natural and environmentally friendly materials is steadily growing. This creates additional motivation for manufacturers and investors who view Tajikistan as a promising center for textile production in the region.
The textile industry is considered a key element of the country's industrialization and one of the priorities in the National Strategy for the Development of Cotton Production and Processing for 2024-2040. This strategy is aimed at increasing competitiveness, creating jobs, increasing exports and sustainable economic growth," the department said.
Government delegations, international organizations, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business associations, financial institutions, as well as more than 50 leading global textile and equipment manufacturing companies have been invited to participate in the forum.
The forum program includes plenary sessions and discussions, a specialized exhibition of textile equipment, a display of light industry products, and business meetings in B2B and G2B (business-to-business and government-to-business) formats.
The first International Textile Forum in Dushanbe will demonstrate the potential of the republic, attract new technologies, establish long-term partnerships and give additional impetus to the development of the country's industrial sector.
