Improvement and construction work underway in Shugnan

As part of the plan of events dedicated to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Day of National Unity, landscaping and construction work has been launched in the Shugnan district. This was reported by the press service of the Executive Authority of the district.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of State independence, the construction and reconstruction of more than 160 socio-economic facilities is planned in the Shugnan district.

During the years of independence, the district's population was allocated 409 hectares of presidential land and 1,267 hectares of household land, which contributed to the creation of new jobs, an increase in the population's income level and a significant improvement in the supply of domestic agricultural products to the market.

As part of state programs, 70 hectares of unused land were brought into agricultural circulation in the region, and 18 hectares of new gardens were created.

Today, there are almost 500 business entities operating in the region, which is 2 times more than in previous years.

In order to implement the strategic goal of accelerated industrialization of the country, 6-7 industrial enterprises are put into operation in the district every year, due to which dozens of new jobs are created. In particular, in the rural jamoat of Suchon in the district, there is a mulberry processing plant "Tuti Pomir", the products of which are currently exported abroad.

On August 17, 2023, within the framework of the instructions and directions of the President of the country Emomali Rahmon, the State Flag Square was built and put into operation in the center of the Shugnan district at a cost of 1.2 million somoni. The height of the flagpole is 35 meters, the width of the flag is 4 meters, and the length is 8 meters.

The State Flag Square serves as a place for residents and guests to relax and walk, and is decorated with lighting on both sides, which gives a beautiful appearance to the administrative center of the Shugnansky District.
