Since June of this year, a subsystem for declaring the entry and exit of vehicles within the GlobalWorld information system has been introduced at all border customs checkpoints of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As noted by the department, the implementation of this initiative is aimed at digitalizing border control procedures, simplifying customs clearance, as well as consistently implementing the provisions of strategic documents in the field of digital transformation and developing the potential of Tajikistan as a transit country.
“The implementation of the subsystem allows for the electronic registration of all types of vehicles – both with foreign and Tajik state registration plates – crossing the state border,” the Customs Service reported.
The system automatically calculates fees for the movement of foreign vehicles through the territory of the republic, which, according to representatives of the service, significantly increases the transparency and efficiency of customs procedures. Fees are paid in non-cash form until permission is received for entry or exit of vehicles, which eliminates delays and reduces the administrative burden on participants in foreign economic activity.
According to the agency, the implementation of GlobalWorld is one of the stages of the gradual modernization of information systems and strengthening the digital infrastructure of customs authorities, as envisaged in the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021–2025.
