In Tursunzade, employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Republic of Tajikistan identified and stopped a major operation of smuggling and illegal drug trafficking, the press service of the agency reported.
As a result of operational and investigative activities on the arable lands of the village of Shirinchashma, jamoat "10th Anniversary of Independence" of the city of Tursunzade, three plastic bags with a narcotic substance weighing a total of 70 kilograms were seized from a hiding place.
Three citizens were detained on suspicion of involvement in illegal drug trafficking: Eshmurodov Shoimardon Narkuzievich (born in 1975), a native of the village of Shulum, Navobod jamoat, Tursunzade city, Boykulov Odiljon Abdurakhmonovich (born in 1986) from the village of Nurobod, Jura Rakhmon jamoat, and Khudoiberdiev Jumanazar Makhmadrakhimovich (born in 1971) from the village of Shirinchashma of the same jamoat. Eshmurodov, who has nine children and is married, is suspected of organizing a criminal group engaged in drug smuggling into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The investigation established that the detainees regularly illegally crossed the state border to smuggle drugs. The seized substance was hidden in a cache in the grain fields of the village of Shirinchashma with the intention of smuggling it to the neighboring state under cover of night, using a vulnerable section of the border.
The problem of illegal drug trafficking remains one of the most serious threats to national security and public health. Drug use harms the health of millions of people, reducing immunity and increasing susceptibility to various diseases.
Experts emphasize that the fight against drug crime requires a comprehensive approach, including increased medical and legal education of the population, active educational work and joint efforts of law enforcement agencies and society. Only by joining forces can we effectively combat the spread of drugs and protect future generations.
