The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Khun Manet on the sidelines of the UN Ocean Conference, which is being held in Nice (French Republic). This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
During the conversation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation and expressed their desire to deepen cooperation between Tajikistan and Cambodia. Particular attention was paid to expanding ties in the trade, economic, industrial and cultural spheres.
Emomali Rahmon noted that the current year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and emphasized Tajikistan’s interest in further developing bilateral partnership.
The parties also considered it appropriate to intensify inter-parliamentary exchanges, as well as to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives within the framework of international and regional organizations.
A separate topic of the meeting was issues related to climate change and ensuring environmental sustainability. The leaders of the two states confirmed their readiness to cooperate in these areas.
At the end of the meeting, Emomali Rahmon invited Khun Manet to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.
