Tajikistan and International AI Companies Agree to Create Data Center and GPU Cluster

The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir held a working meeting with representatives of leading international companies in the field of artificial intelligence – Presight (United Arab Emirates) and Scale AI (United States of America). This was reported on Sunday by the press service of the ministry.

The meeting was attended by Presight Global Commercial Director Mohammed Muaded Sultan Nasser Al-Mheiri, SK-Presight CEO Maksat Koshumbayev, Scale AI Vice President for International Partnerships Brooke Arthur and Technical Director for Government Projects Matthew Spall. The delegations' visit was organized by the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The parties discussed key areas of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Tajikistan. Priority projects include the launch of the Presight pilot program on computer vision algorithms within the Smart City initiative in Dushanbe, as well as the placement of regional offices of both companies in the future Area AI technopark, the first innovation cluster in the region with a self-regulating model for implementing AI.

The talks also included discussions on the creation of a GPU cluster and a national cloud data center based on green energy, as well as establishing partnerships with local AI companies.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of training qualified personnel, scientific research cooperation, as well as adaptation and localization of AI solutions for the needs of Tajikistan.

Speaking at the meeting, Sherali Kabir noted that the development of artificial intelligence is a strategic priority for the state and expressed readiness for long-term cooperation with global technology leaders.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to begin preparing memoranda of understanding and begin implementing joint initiatives by the end of 2025.
