A clean-up day for rescuers was held at a training center under construction in Karatag

In the village of Karatag, Shahrinav district, a collective cleanup day was held with the participation of the personnel of the Dushanbe garrison of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event took place on May 22, 2025, on the territory of the training center under construction for the preparation of rescuers. The Chairman of the Committee, Colonel General Rajabali Rahmonali, took part in the action.

As reported by the Committee's press service, the clean-up day was organized as part of the events to improve the territory and accelerate the construction of the National Training Center. The project is being implemented with the support of international partners and is aimed at improving the level of training of the country's rescue units.

According to the department, the Center is being built on a 21.7-hectare site 47 kilometers from Dushanbe. Its creation was made possible by the support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and funding from the European Union, OSCE and the World Bank.

The first stage of construction has now been completed, which included the construction of a 120-bed dormitory, a canteen for 80 people, a checkpoint, and the creation of engineering infrastructure, including water and electricity supply systems. With the assistance of the International Civil Defense Organization, the center received three training modules of special equipment. A number of auxiliary premises were also overhauled at the expense of the state budget.

The Center plans to train rescuers in the areas of earthquake, avalanche, rockfall, mountaineering, surface and underwater operations. In addition, work is underway to prepare volunteer rescue teams from all over the republic and specialists from Central Asian countries.

As part of the second stage of construction, with the assistance of the World Bank, a project is being implemented to create a Diving Training Center and a Canine Center.

To complete the project, the following facilities must be built: an administrative and educational building, a conference hall, an observation point for field exercises, and a modern sports ground.

The Emergency Situations Committee plans to continue cooperation with international partners to attract additional financial resources and complete the construction of a strategic center that has no analogues in the region.
