On May 21, 2025, consultations of the CSTO member states were held in videoconference mode using the communication channels of the CSTO Crisis Response Center on the topic: "On current issues of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation" (CVRN), in which delegations of the CSTO member states, Acting Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO Samat Ordabayev and employees of the CSTO Secretariat took part, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
A detailed discussion of current issues and development prospects in the sphere of KVRN took place. Participants compared approaches to specific aspects of compliance and strengthening of existing international treaties and agreements in this area.
When discussing certain topical issues, the importance of cooperation and active joint steps to counter attempts to use outer space as an “arena for combat operations” was noted, as was the need to maintain human control over weapons systems using artificial intelligence.
Interest was confirmed in continuing regular verification of positions on issues of the KVRN in order to coordinate actions at relevant international venues.
