A meeting with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by Director for Central Asia Holger Wiefel was held at the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the department.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas of industrial development. The focus was on attracting foreign funding and direct investment in various sectors of the Tajik economy.


Within the framework of the dialogue, mutual interest was expressed in the creation of new manufacturing enterprises, the development of the textile, mechanical engineering and pharmaceutical industries, the introduction of modern industrial technologies, ensuring environmental safety, including the decontamination of territories with radioactive waste, as well as support for projects to transition to a “green” economy and sustainable production.
The parties also discussed the possibility of implementing joint programs to modernize industrial infrastructure, taking into account international environmental standards.
EBRD representatives emphasized their readiness to continue cooperation and provide technical and financial support within the framework of ongoing and future projects aimed at the sustainable development of the industrial sector in Tajikistan.
