The new Tajikistan youth team led by Daler Kayosov will take part in the Central Asian Football Association championship, which will be held from May 24 to 31 in Tashkent, FFT reports.
Six teams from the region – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Afghanistan – will take part in the 2025 CAFA Youth Championship. Based on the results of the draw, the teams will form two groups.
In the group stage, the teams will play in a round-robin format in one round. Then the group winners will meet in the final. The teams that took second place in their groups will meet in the match for third place. There will also be a consolation match for fifth-sixth place. All matches of the tournament will be held at the Dustlik stadium in Tashkent.
It should be noted that the Tajikistan U-16 team for the CAFA tournament includes seven players who took part in the 2025 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. After qualifying for the 2025 World Cup, our new youth team automatically won a ticket to the 2026 Asian Cup and is exempt from qualifying matches.
