The leadership of the Football Federation of Tajikistan took part in the 75th Congress of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), which was held in Paraguay, FFT reports.
The Football Federation of Tajikistan was represented at the FIFA Congress by the organization’s vice-president Alisher Urunov and secretary general Furkat Akhmedzhanov.
The congress confirmed that the Women's World Cup will be expanded to 48 teams from 2031.
Speaking about the new formats for the World Cups, FIFA President Gianni Infantino noted that these tournaments will be the most diverse in history.
The next, 76th FIFA Congress will be held on April 30, 2026 in Vancouver.
