A police officer saved a 38-year-old woman and her two young children who were trying to commit suicide by jumping into a river in the center of Dushanbe. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
The incident occurred on Khafiz Sherozi Street, where a woman with two children intended to enter the water to commit suicide. The attempt was noticed by police lieutenant colonel Alizoda Jobir, an employee of the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs, who was passing by. He immediately intervened and, with the support of two concerned citizens, was able to prevent the tragedy by pulling the woman and children out of the river.


"The police officer demonstrated high professionalism, determination and efficiency in an emergency situation, thereby saving the lives of three citizens," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The woman was hospitalized and is under medical observation. An investigation is underway to determine the reasons for her actions.
The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Colonel Alizoda Jobir and two citizens who provided assistance in the rescue.
