The Tajik authorities plan to complete the development and approve a plan to connect 3,300 facilities in the capital to centralized heating networks by June 1, 2025. This is reported in the approved "Plan of measures to prepare the economy and social sphere for the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026", published in official sources.
According to the document adopted by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 28, 2025, the responsible ministries and departments were instructed to ensure the implementation of a set of works on connecting residential, social and commercial facilities to heat supply systems in the city of Dushanbe.
As noted, every year in the winter period, electricity consumption in the capital more than doubles, which creates an additional load on the country's energy system. The transition to centralized heat supply will significantly reduce electricity consumption and increase overall energy efficiency.
The implementation of the project will ensure a more stable heat supply to the capital's facilities, and will also create conditions for a more uniform distribution of electricity throughout the republic during peak winter loads.
