Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Tajikistan Catherine Smithton. The meeting took place as part of preparations for the upcoming Tajik-British mining forum, NIAT Khovar reports with reference to the press service of the department.
The interlocutors discussed current issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the industrial, investment, trade, economic and technological spheres. The main attention was paid to organizational issues of holding the Tajik-British mining forum, which is scheduled for May 19 this year in London.
The parties expressed interest in further developing partnerships and implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of mining and processing of minerals.
It was noted that the forum, organized with the support of the governments of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom, will become an important platform for demonstrating the mining potential of the Republic of Tajikistan, presenting investment opportunities, and exchanging knowledge and technology. Participation of representatives of government agencies, leading international companies and financial institutions is expected.
The forum will also promote sustainable mining practices, introduce innovative solutions, and establish direct contacts between Tajik and British business communities.
Overall, the meeting was held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere. The parties confirmed their readiness to deepen cooperation and expressed confidence in the successful holding of the forum.
