Photo contest in honor of friendship between China and Tajikistan launched in Dushanbe

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Tajikistan, together with the National Information Agency of Tajikistan "Khovar", announced the launch of a national photo contest entitled "Symbol of Friendship between China and Tajikistan – the Government Building and the Parliament Building of Tajikistan".

As reported by the organizing committee, the competition is held in honor of the opening in July 2024 in Dushanbe of a new complex of buildings of the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan. The complex was built with gratuitous assistance from the People's Republic of China and was opened in a ceremonial setting with the participation of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping.

All citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan are invited to participate in the competition. Each participant can submit up to three works – both single photographs and photo series (up to five images in a series). Works must meet the following technical requirements: JPG or JPEG format, file size from 3 to 15 MB, resolution of at least 300 dpi.

The themes of the photographs may cover the architectural expressiveness of new buildings, seasonal changes, atmosphere, visitors' emotions, as well as a reflection of the friendship between the peoples of China and Tajikistan.

Photos must be original, created without the use of generative artificial intelligence, and not contain logos, watermarks, or hidden advertising.

When submitting applications, participants are required to provide a title and description of each work (up to 200 words). A short article about the creation of the photographs is also allowed.

Competition dates:

• Applications will be accepted until June 2, 2025;
• Evaluation of works – in the first half of June;
• The award ceremony will take place in mid-June 2025.

Prize fund of the competition:

• 1st place – 1 winner: diploma and 10,000 somoni;
• 2nd place – 3 winners: diploma and 5,000 somoni each;
• 3rd place – 6 winners: diploma and 3,000 somoni each;
• Honorary awards – 20 participants: diploma and commemorative Chinese souvenirs.

All participants will receive certificates from the Embassy of China in Tajikistan. The winners of the first three places will be invited to the award ceremony.
