The Tajikistan national team took first place in the overall team standings at the Dushanbe Grand Slam 2025 international judo tournament, which was held in the capital of the republic from May 2 to 4. This was reported by the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The competition was attended by 226 athletes from 27 countries. The Tajikistan team was represented by 36 judokas – 28 men and 8 women. Following the three-day tournament, Tajik athletes won 11 medals – 4 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze – and led the overall medal count.






On the first day of the tournament, Nurali Emomali (up to 66 kg) distinguished himself, winning in the final against his compatriot Obid Dzhebov, performing a koshi-guruma throw and finishing the fight with ippon. Mehrzod Sufiyev (up to 60 kg) became the silver medalist, losing in the final to Azerbaijani Balabay Agayev. Bronze medals that day were won by Madina Kurbonzoda (up to 52 kg), Yosin Bobokalonov (up to 66 kg) and another athlete from the team.
On the second day of the competition, Mukhiddin Asadulloev (up to 73 kg) defeated Erdenebayar Batzai from Mongolia in the decisive fight, winning his first gold medal in the Grand Slam tournaments. Somon Makhmadbekov (up to 81 kg) beat IJF representative Adam Setchoev in the yuko assessment. Abubakr Sherov won bronze in the up to 73 kg category.
The final day of the tournament brought Tajikistan another gold, one silver and one bronze medal. Temur Rakhimov (over 100 kg) defeated Jamol Gamzatkhanov (Azerbaijan) in extra time. In the up to 100 kg category, Jahongir Majidov lost to Jafar Kostoyev (UAE) in the final, becoming the silver medalist. Karomatullo Khakimov, who competed in the same weight category, won bronze.
According to the organizers, Dushanbe Grand Slam 2025 is part of the IJF World Tour and is considered one of the key stages in the international judo calendar. The tournament was held in accordance with international standards and became an important test of strength before the summer championships.
