Despite its predominantly urban infrastructure, the agricultural sector in Dushanbe's Sino district continues to contribute to the capital's supply of fresh agricultural produce. In the first half of 2026, farms in the district produced over 5,000 tons of agricultural produce . This was announced today at a press conference dedicated to the socioeconomic development results of Dushanbe's Sino district for the first half of 2026.
According to the data presented, there are 205 dehkan farms operating in the district, which are engaged in growing vegetables, fruits and other agricultural products.
During the reporting period, the total area of crops amounted to more than 316 hectares , including grain crops, potatoes, vegetables, melons and forage crops.
Particular attention is being paid to the development of greenhouse farming. The district has three year-round greenhouses where vegetables and herbs are grown, providing residents with fresh produce regardless of the season.
The district's executive authority noted that agricultural development remains a key focus, despite the district's high level of urbanization. Work is underway to efficiently use land, increase crop yields, and implement modern agricultural technologies.
As emphasized at the press conference, further development of dehkan farms and greenhouse production will increase agricultural production and strengthen the capital's food security.
