Two fatal road accidents occurred in Tajikistan, killing three people, including two children, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The first accident occurred on July 10 at approximately 4:10 PM in Nurek. According to preliminary reports, the driver of a Hyundai Porter truck, Mahmadsafari Kurbonali, born in 1995, a resident of the Puli Sangin jamoat in Nurek, was reversing from his home's yard onto the roadway when he struck a minor, Kurbonalizoda Umar Muzaffar, born in 2024, who also lived in the area.
As a result of the collision, the child sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. An investigation is underway.
Another fatal accident occurred on July 11 at around 4:30 pm on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanok highway, in the village of Surkh, Kalai Kalon rural jamoat, Istaravshan.
According to law enforcement agencies, the driver of the Opel Astra, Shamsiev Umedzhon Saifiddinovich, born in 2004, a resident of the rural jamoat of Gulakandoz, lost control and collided with a Hyundai Porter truck, driven by Zubaydulloi Karomatullo, born in 1991, a resident of the rural jamoat of Kalai Kalon.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Opel Astra, Shamsiev Umedzhon Saifiddinovich, and the minor passenger, Abboszoda Sabrina, born in 2019, a resident of the rural jamoat of Gulakandoz, died at the scene from their injuries.
An investigation is also being conducted into the second road traffic accident.
