In the first half of 2026, enterprises within the Committee for Housing and Public Utilities under the Government of Tajikistan completed a significant amount of work to modernize water supply and sanitation facilities, aimed at increasing the reliability of public infrastructure and improving the provision of high-quality drinking water to the population.
According to the Committee, 112 pumping units were commissioned and completed routine maintenance in the first six months of this year. In addition, specialists performed routine maintenance on 20 transformers.

As part of the utility infrastructure upgrade, 1,320 meters of worn-out water pipes of various diameters were repaired and restored. At the same time, utility services repaired 965 water supply system failures.
The Committee noted that the work was carried out by state-owned water supply and sanitation companies in cities, districts, and rural communities within the agency's system. The main goal of these activities is to improve the quality of public services, provide the population with safe drinking water, and ensure the smooth operation of water supply and sanitation systems.
