In the first six months of this year, law enforcement officials in Dushanbe identified 47 cases of obstruction of minors' compulsory education, according to the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The agency reminded that ensuring the education and upbringing of children is an important duty and serious responsibility of every parent. However, some parents, in violation of legal requirements and the rights and legitimate interests of minors, prevent their children from receiving compulsory education.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 47 similar cases were registered as a result of the inspections carried out.
Criminal cases have been opened against the parents of minors whose children were deprived of compulsory education under Article 164 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. Investigations are currently underway.
In conclusion, law enforcement agencies appealed to citizens, especially fathers and mothers, to take a responsible approach to the education, upbringing, and training of their children, in compliance with legal requirements.
