The average mobile internet speed in Tajikistan increased from 7.2 Mbps in early 2025 to 35.4 Mbps in 2026, according to data from the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the first half of this year.
Thus, over the specified period, the average mobile internet speed in the country increased almost fivefold.
As noted in the agency's materials, the growth in these indicators was the result of the implementation of a set of measures to develop telecommunications infrastructure, expand communication networks, and improve the quality of services provided.
Fixed internet speeds in Tajikistan currently reach 48.71 Mbps. The communications service continues to work to further increase this figure.
It is expected that fixed-line internet speeds in the country will be increased to 100 Mbps within the next two years.
In the first half of 2026, 383 km of fiber-optic communication lines were also laid in Tajikistan. This is a 51.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when 253 km of fiber were laid.
The total length of operating fiber-optic communication lines in the republic has reached 10,611 km.
