The total number of low-income families in Tajikistan, including recipients of targeted social assistance for 2025, was 234,590. This was reported by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan at a press conference on the results of the first half of 2026.
According to the agency, the coverage rate for low-income families is 14.2% of the annual plan, an increase of 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous figure.


Over 120.3 million somoni were allocated to fund targeted social assistance in Tajikistan in the first six months of 2026. Specifically, the funding volume amounted to 120,373,617 somoni, or 92% of the first half-year plan.
The Ministry also reported that as of July 1, 2026, structures, organizations, and institutions of the social protection system provided various types of assistance and social services to 445,947 citizens.
We are talking about socially vulnerable citizens and people who find themselves in difficult life situations.


Furthermore, as of June 30 of this year, 172,394 people with disabilities were registered in Tajikistan. This represents 1.6% of the country's total population.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population noted that the implementation of state policy in the area of social protection and the provision of targeted assistance to vulnerable categories of citizens continued in the first half of the year.
