In the first half of 2026, 32 accidents were recorded at enterprises and facilities under state supervision in Tajikistan. As a result of these incidents, 21 people died and another 19 were injured.
This is stated in a press release on the results of the activities of the State Supervision Service for Safety in Industry and Mining Supervision under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for January–June 2026.
According to the agency, the main causes of accidents at industrial and mining facilities were failure to comply with industrial safety requirements and violations of technological processes.
The Service also noted the improper performance of duties by engineering and technical personnel at the enterprises. Another factor affecting industrial safety remains the shortage of qualified specialists in the industry.
Furthermore, the agency cites violations of field development technology as a cause of industrial accidents. The combination of these factors, according to the Service, leads to accidents at supervised enterprises and facilities.
Following the investigation of the incidents, two legal entities, 33 officials, and 13 individuals were held administratively liable for violations. The total fines imposed for the incidents amounted to 153,960 somoni.
During the reporting period, the Service brought 65 legal entities, officials, and individuals from registered enterprises to administrative liability. The total fines imposed on them amounted to 225,270 somoni.
During technical inspections, agency specialists identified 24 violations of regulatory requirements. To address these violations, appropriate orders were issued to the supervised enterprises.
As of the reporting period, 4,141 enterprises and 24,716 facilities were registered with the State Service for Supervision of Industrial Safety and Mining Supervision.
