In the Zafarabad district, a new unit at the Mirzochul-1 pumping station was commissioned with the participation of Sughd Region Chairman Rajabboy Akhmadzoda. This was reported by the regional chairman's press service.
The new unit was delivered from the People's Republic of China with the direct support of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the executive authority of the Sughd region. Installation and assembly of the equipment were performed by local specialists.
The new unit has a capacity of 7,000 kilowatts and can pump up to 6 cubic meters of water per second. According to regional authorities, the commissioning of the equipment will significantly improve the supply of irrigation water to agricultural lands and enhance the efficiency of the pumping station.

It was noted that 12 pumping stations are currently operating in the Zafarabad district, equipped with 19 high-capacity units and 10 smaller units. Thanks to their operation, over 32,000 hectares of agricultural land in the district are supplied with irrigation water. In addition, 800 vertical wells operate in the district, which also play a vital role in the irrigation system.
During his visit to the site, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda instructed those responsible to take measures to ensure the efficient use of irrigation networks, the timely supply of water to agricultural land, and the proper maintenance of equipment.

The regional chairman emphasized that, under current conditions, regular water supply to agricultural crops is one of the key factors in increasing yields and increasing the volume of agricultural production, including cotton.
At the same time, it was reported that work is continuing to restore the pressure pipelines at the Mirzochul-2 pumping station. Specialists are taking the necessary measures to ensure the timely completion of this infrastructure work.
During the visit, the Sughd Region Governor also inspected the cotton crops at the Asilbek farm. It was noted that the farm has 30 hectares of land, 18 of which are used for cotton cultivation. The crops are in good condition, and the farmers are expecting a bountiful harvest.

The regional governor also visited the Rakhimjon farm. Here, wheat is grown on 2 hectares, barley on 1.5 hectares, and cotton on 4 hectares. The grain harvest is currently underway, and the farmers intend to fully harvest the crop and use the land resources as efficiently as possible.

Rajabboy Akhmadzoda emphasized that ensuring the country's food security is one of the most important state objectives. Therefore, rational and efficient use of each plot of land, timely harvesting without losses, and replanting after grain harvest are among the top priorities for agricultural producers.
Following the visit, responsible agencies were instructed to take additional measures to ensure a sustainable supply of irrigation water to agricultural lands, improve crop yields, and increase agricultural production volumes.
