Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with the newly appointed Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Altynbek Rysbekov. The talks took place on June 18, 2026, in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and discussed prospects for its further development. The ministers exchanged views on key areas of cooperation of mutual interest to both countries.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the regional CASA-1000 electricity transmission project, as well as the REMIT project, aimed at developing a regional electricity market and electricity trade in Central Asia.


In addition, meeting participants discussed the exchange of experience between industry specialists, the use of Tajik experience in the construction of hydroelectric power plants, and other pressing issues in the energy sector.
Daler Juma and Altynbek Rysbekov emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to ensure energy security, develop a regional electricity market, and more efficiently utilize the existing energy potential of the two countries.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest in the energy sector.
