On June 17, 2026, a delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, met with Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank in Baku. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral economic cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to increasing mutual trade turnover, establishing joint industrial enterprises, including in the free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, and attracting Azerbaijani investment into the country's economy.


The meeting participants discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in various economic areas of mutual interest to both countries.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed interest in implementing joint economic initiatives.
The meeting took place as part of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank, which are taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan.
