Officers from the Ismoili Somoni District Department of Internal Affairs detained 58-year-old Dushanbe resident Zukhro Shamsiddinova, who was engaged in fortune telling, according to the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.
According to police, the woman demanded a black chicken and seven multicolored pieces of cloth from citizens to perform her rituals. She claimed that by sprinkling the cloth with the bird's blood, people's affairs and financial situation would improve.
Additionally, officers from the Sino District Department of Internal Affairs No. 1 detained Dilbar Barotova, a Moscow resident born in 1968. According to law enforcement, she also engaged in fortune telling in her area and profited financially from this activity.


For both incidents, administrative protocols were drawn up against the women under Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan.
By court decision, each of them was assigned an administrative penalty in the form of a fine in the amount of 80 calculated indicators.
Police urged citizens not to trust various fortune-telling and superstitious practices. Law enforcement agencies also recommended reporting such incidents to the Moscow police.
