On June 3, 2026, the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting of the Steering Committee of the project "Strengthening the Capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan to Comply with the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement (CBIT)." This was reported by the Agency's press service.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Hydrometeorology Agency, Abdullo Kurbonzoda, the Executive Director of the Representative Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan, A.F. Harutyunyan, as well as members of the project Steering Committee.


The meeting opened with opening remarks from the leadership of the Agency for Hydrometeorology and the FAO Representation. During the discussion, the parties noted their fruitful cooperation in implementing the Paris Agreement, strengthening national capacity, and taking effective measures to mitigate the impact of climate change.
The main objective of the event was to review the results of the project implementation for 2025–2026, as well as to discuss further steps to ensure the effective implementation of planned activities in 2027.
The meeting participants reviewed the progress of the project's activities, the results achieved, and issues related to strengthening the national reporting and transparency system.
Following the discussions, specific recommendations were developed for further stages of project implementation and the fulfillment of the Republic of Tajikistan's international obligations in the field of climate change.
