The play "Bobojon Gafurov" will premiere in the coming days at the Muhammadjon Kasymov State Experimental Theater for Young Spectators "Akhorun." The production is part of events commemorating the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, reports NIAT Khovar.
According to the theater, the play is dedicated to the life and work of Hero of Tajikistan Bobojon Gafurov, one of the most prominent representatives of the Tajik people. The production is based on historical documents, letters, and other reliable sources. The play transports audiences to a period when questions of the nation's fate and the historical identity of Tajiks were at the center of socio-political debate.
The director and co-author of the play was Abdulhafiz Kodiri, a teacher at the Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts.
According to the creators, the production aims not only to tell the story of Bobojon Gafurov's life but also to introduce the younger generation to his contribution to preserving historical memory and strengthening national identity.
The play's creators note that Bobojon Gafurov's name is well known to many since childhood, but not everyone is familiar with the role he played in defending the history and culture of the Tajik people during a difficult historical period. The production aims to reveal these little-known chapters of his biography to the audience.
One of the performance's highlights will be a unique live gallery of prominent figures in Tajik culture and science. According to theater director Firdavs Kosimov, alongside Bobojon Gafurov, Mirsaid Mirshakar, Sadriddin Aini, Muhammadjon Kosimov, Mirzo Tursunzade, and Tukhfa Fozilova will be featured on stage.
According to him, this will allow the performance to immerse viewers in the cultural and scientific environment of the era in which the fate of the nation and the national identity of the Tajik people were shaped.
