In recent days, Tajikistan has seen a number of road accidents and a water accident, resulting in several deaths and injuries of varying severity, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reports.
According to law enforcement agencies, on May 31 at around 00:30 on the 330th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Chanak-Khujand highway in the Bobojon Gafurov district, the driver of a BYD electric vehicle, Firdavsjon Ismoilov, born in 1998, a resident of the Yova jamoat, traveling from the Matcha district towards Khujand, lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Said Yusufzoda, born in 1984, a resident of the Matcha district.
As a result of the accident, both drivers, as well as a passenger in the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mehriddin Gafuri, born in 1978, a resident of Khujand, died at the scene from their severe injuries.
In addition, passengers of the BYD electric vehicle, Jamshed Ismanov and Murodjon Akhmedov, both born in 2003, received various bodily injuries and were hospitalized.
Another fatal accident occurred on May 31 at approximately 11:50 a.m. in the city of Vahdat. According to preliminary reports, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz, Jasur Akobirzoda, born in 1998, a resident of the Muminabad district, was driving from Nurek to Vahdat when he crossed into oncoming traffic while overtaking and lost control. As a result, he collided with a Dongfeng L7 driven by Abdurashid Kodirov, born in 1985, a resident of the Farkhor district. The Mercedes-Benz then collided with a Lexus.
As a result of the accident, Fotima Odinaeva, a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz and a resident of the Muminabad district, sustained serious injuries and died en route to the hospital. The Mercedes-Benz driver was hospitalized with various injuries.
On the same day, at around 5:50 p.m., in the Sadriddin Aini jamoat of the Khuroson district, the driver of a Shacman truck, Mirahror Mirvosidov, born in 1987, a resident of the city of Bokhtar, traveling in the direction of Dushanbe, lost control and hit a cyclist, Normurod Kamolov, born in 1952, a resident of the Khuroson district.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigative measures are being carried out on all the above facts, and the circumstances of the incident are being established.
